Nadi Bhedan (Nerves piercing)

It is one of the many miraculous therapies found in Ayurved. It is based on the theory that there are very specific nerves in our body (mostly in ear) that control the different mechanisms of our body. Doshas, when aggravated in these nerves becomes the cause of various diseases in the human body.

In the first part of this therapy, we pierce the body part that contains the aggravated nerves, then put a thread through this perforation.  Later, this thread is replaced with any type of metal. The thread is continuously rotated to melt away the Dosha that is  accumulated in the diseased part.   The patient starts getting relief with in a day or two. This therapy is very effective in diseases of lungs, hernia, enlargement of testis.

People say acupuncture is a Chinese therapy; actually acupuncture is just a part of Nari Bhedan. As compared to acupuncture this therapy gives results with in hours.

Acupuncture

It is a branch of ancient Ayurvedic Nadi Bhedan nerves piercing andRaktamokshan (blood letting) A technique similar to acupressure, except that fine needles are inserted  in specific points along the meridians just under the skin to stimulate, disperse and balance the flow or energy, relieve pain, and treat a variety of chronic, acute and degenerative conditions. Penetration and stimulation of these specific points in the body is done to restore the normal energetic balance of the body.

The name “Acupunture” is derived from the Latin words Acus (needle) and Punctura (penetration). It is however, an ancient Chinese system of healing that views health as the balance within an individual’s healing energy, or chi. Acupuncturists help chi to move along pathways, known as meridians, that connect various organs and systems within the body. The uninterrupted and balanced flow of energy along these meridians contributes to one’s overall health. However, blockages and imbalances result in pain and illness. The acupuncturist inserts very fine, sterile needles at specific acupuncture points along the meridians to redirect and reposition the flow of energy. Instead of, or in addition to the needles, small rolled-up cones of moxa, dried leaves of the mugwort plant, are often placed on the point and burned. The heat generated helps in the healing process.
